Weddings at Wythe

“Marriage is a gift God has given to all humankind for the well-being of the entire human family. In civil law, marriage is a contract that recognizes the rights and obligations of the married couple in society. In the reformed tradition, marriage is also a  covenant in which God has an active part and which the community of faith publicly witnesses and acknowledges.”

Book of Order W-4.0601: Christian Marriage

The session of Wythe Presbyterian Church welcomes you to use the facilities of the Church for your wedding, and the staff would like to assist you in the planning of your very special day. It is our belief that marriage is instituted by God for the welfare and happiness of people and that the ceremony should be performed in an attitude of reference and worship.

It is policy of the Church that the pastor of Wythe Presbyterian Church officiates at all wedding services and should be contacted as soon as possible to arrange a mutually suitable date for the ceremony and rehearsal. The couple must consult with the pastor regarding wedding plans and the order of worship. The rehearsal will be directed by the pastor. If the couple requests that another minister officiate or co-officiate at their wedding the pastor of Wythe must be consulted and will extend the invitation to the guest minister.

Please contact the office if you would like more information!
