Group Study: "The Chosen"

Monday evenings from 6 - 7:30 PM
Online via zoom, or in-person at Wythe Presbyterian Church
This week, March 24: Season 1, Episode 3
From www.thechosen.tv : “The Chosen” is a groundbreaking historical drama based on the life of Jesus Christ (Jonathan Roumie), seen through the eyes of those who knew him. Set against the backdrop of Roman oppression in first-century Israel, the seven-season show shares an authentic and intimate look at Jesus’ revolutionary life and teachings.
The Presbyterian Partnership of Hampton is offering a group study of the series, both online and through Zoom. Participants will watch the episode together and then discuss it, and Zoom participants will be able to directly interact with those who are at the church. We will cover the first season (8 episodes) starting with Episode 1 on Monday, March 10 at 6 PM at Wythe Presbyterian Church. Folks who come in-person are invited to bring their dinner.
How to connect via Zoom: CLICK THIS LINK up to 10 minutes prior to the start time. You will be placed in a "waiting room," and the leader will need to admit you. Please be patient, the technology doesn't always cooperate. You will need to have a Zoom account to participate, which is free at zoom.us - best to set that up in advance
You can join the study any week, though we recommend watching previous episodes of the show prior to joining. We also recommend watching the episode we will be discussing prior to the session when we view it together, as it is much easier to understand the second time around. We highly recommend using the Closed Captioning feature.
There will be seven seasons total of “The Chosen,” with the 5th season set to be released in March 2025 in theaters. Studies of subsequent seasons will take place in the future, rotating through our three churches.
How to watch “The Chosen:” The series is free to watch through “The Chosen” app available on both Apple and Android platforms, and through the website www.thechosen.tv – it is also available through several major steaming services and the CW channel. The finances to create and film the series has been largely funded through crowdsourcing.
